About Strout Farm
Our history
Strout Farm Cottage still belongs to the Strout family who have lived in this cottage, on this exquisite piece of land for more than 180 years.
Starting with Richard Strout, there have been 7 generations of Strouts live in this cottage. Most of the furniture, photos and ornaments come with a story of where they fit in the Strout timeline.
This location is quiet, calm, safe and peaceful.
Each evening presents a breathtaking sunset, and you’ll be woken in the morning to the gorgeous sounds of birdlife that live in the surrounding trees.
Guests will have access to most of the area surrounding the cottage, including the lawns, the sheep paddock and the 150yr + Moreton Bay fig tree.
To live on this land has been a blessing handed down to the Strout family who still reside here. The Strouts do not see themselves as the owners of Strout Farm; but as the caretakers.
Upon your stay you’ll find a folder (which is constantly being updated) that guests can read to better understand the history of the Strouts and their farming history on this truly beautiful piece of land.
